Manilva Council’s Infrastructure & Works department, directed by Diego José Jiménez, continues to carry out its action plan in the various parts of the municipality.

Councillor Jiménez informed LVR of the improvements that will be carried out on the Las Gaviotas promenade and on the staircase that connects the green zone and Puerto de la Duquesa.

Jiménez assured this newspaper that “a much-needed irrigation system will be installed on the Las Gaviotas beach promenade for the planters in the area, which will improve their conservation in the summer season.”

“This area of great tourist importance for the municipality must offer the best image to visitors”

Regarding the connecting stairs between the Port of La Duquesa and the Green Zone, the head of Infrastructure & Works tells us that “this is a very busy area that provides access to the port facilities, and we are going to carry out work to improve the aesthetics and accessibility to the harbourside. When finished, the works will present an image more in line with that of the port, leaving behind the state of dilapidation they currently present”.

For Jiménez “these actions are an important priority” as it is a key point in tourism, for the municipality, which must offer the best possible image”.

The Councillor for infrastructure and works also highlights “the importance of the tendering for these works which have a direct impact on the local economy, as they are being carried out by local contractors.”
