The publication by the Environment Department, directed by Laura López, of a brochure of Hiking Routes that can be enjoyed within the municipality of Manilva and its surroundings, has been the catalyst for the creation of this hiking group under the name of “Senderismo en Manilva”:

The group’s promoter has already set up a Facebook Group where all those interested can register and contribute their ideas for the enjoyment of this activity, ensuring that “the group was established with the sole purpose of enjoying the magnificent landscape and environment in which we live, and the publication by the Council of this magnificent guide has encouraged us even more to start this group which is open to all “.

A total of seven routes that run through local area of scenic and environmental interest are included in the Council’s publication.

Each itinerary takes in the typically Mediterranean landscape, such as the Pinar de Tábanos, a small stone pine forest, the cork oak forest of the Loma del Negro, the Cerro de los Castillejos, with its Bronze Age archaeological site, the Alcorrín stream, with interesting remains of what was once the Mediterranean forest of cork oaks and Andalucian or Moorish gall oaks, the views strolling along the Vizcarronda and the old renovated winery from the 18th century, the springs of La Peñuela and El Chorro, or the cliffs of Punta Chullera, a jewel of the Costa del Sol.

The brochures can be obtained from the Manilva Town Hall and the Tenencia de Alcaldia in Sabinillas , as well as from the Environment, Tourism and Sports offices.
