The Casa de las Tejerinas hosts an exhibition on the impact of the pandemic at the colegio Simón Fernández school

The opening of the photographic exhibition ‘Our school in the time of Coronavirus’ by Michael Arce will take place on Thursday, 25th February 25, at 4.30 pm.

The Estepona Town Council has announced that from Thursday, 25th February, at 4.30 pm, the exhibition of photographs’ Our school in times of Coronavirus’, by Michael Arce will be held in room 2 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de Las Flores.

Through 13 images, the Costa Rican photographer. living in Estepona. tries to show the disruption caused by the pandemic in the Simón Fernández school, and the changes that this entails for the return of the students to the classrooms.

The exhibition can be visited until 11th March, Tuesday to Saturday, from 9 am to 6 pm, with free access. Once completed, the photographs will go on permanent display in the school.

About the artist

Michael Arce was born in Costa Rica in March, 1980. At the age of 15 he began his artistic career as a dancer, becoming part of several professional Latin American dance groups.

In 2000 he began Dramatic Arts at the University of Costa Rica, while also venturing into glass art. After his passage through the United States, he moved to the United Kingdom, where he began and deepened his passion for the world of photography following the birth of his children, working as a professional photographer at concerts and fashion events .

In 2017 he settled on the Costa del Sol with his family, where he works in the world of fashion. In addition to collaborating in publications from different countries, he has served as an official photographer for prestigious international and national competitions, such as Miss World Germany 2018, Marbella Fashion Week 2018 and 2019, or Granada Fashion Week 2019, among others.

His passion for black and white photography encouraged him to hold his first exhibition “Our school in the time of Coronavirus.”
