The Aquae Foundation has launched its second reforestation project this year, with a new action that will recover more than 20,000 m2 of the El Calvario natural area and that will allow it to absorb 80 tons of CO2 during the next three decades.

The reforestation, which is carried out with the collaboration of Hidralia and the Town Council, includes the planting of 800 trees of seven indigenous species, specifically, 240 specimens of Aleppo Pine, 160 Holm Oaks, 120 Almonds, 80 Cypress and European Olive, respectively, 40 Cork Oak and the same number of Carob trees.

The work is being carried out by Sylvestris, a social enterprise expert in planting woodland, and which has been associated with the “Sembrando Oxygen” project from its inception.
